Wednesday Morning Draft Headlines
The Los Angeles Clippers are not expected to trade the top pick in the draft, but instead keep it and select Oklahoma PF Blake Griffin.
Should the Grizzlies keep the second pick, it is widely anticipated that the selection will be Connecticut C Hasheem Thabeet.
The Minnesota Timberwolves now have the 5th and 6th picks in the draft. The Wolves traded guards Randy Foye and Mike Miller to the Wizards for Etan Thomas, Oleksiy Pecherov and Darius Songaila.
The Milwaukee Bucks have traded swingman Richard Jefferson to the San Antonio Spurs for Bruce Bowen, Kurt Thomas and Fabricio Oberto.
Milwaukee then turned around and traded Oberto to Detroit for forward Amir Johnson.
Detroit reportedly covets Utah PF Carlos Boozer, a free agent this summer.
The Pistons plan to buy out Oberto's contract and the Bucks may very well do the same with Bruce Bowen.
The trades were made, on Milwaukee's end, to make room for the contracts of Ramon Sessions and Charlie Villanueva.
However, the Bucks may not be done making moves -- the team is reportedly looking to deal PG Luke Ridnour, especially if they can land Syracuse PG Jonny Flynn in the draft.
The Mavericks, meanwhile, are looking for the right deal...and it probably involves trading SG Jerry Stackhouse.
While no deal is expected to take place, one Eastern conference executive says the latest trade rumor included Rajon Rondo and Brian Scalabrine to Memphis for Mike Conley and Rudy Gay.
The Raptors seem to have narrowed their choices down to USC's DeMar DeRozan, UCLA's Jrue Holliday and Duke's Gerald Henderson.
Wake Forest forward James Johnson is an undefeated kickboxer.
The Knicks extended qualifying offers to David Lee and Nate Robinson, making them both restricted free agents this summer.
The 76ers have gone back to their 1960s "basketball" logo, last used in the 1996-97 season.
